Wisebirthing is an innovative and creative approach to preparation for childbirth and the early days of parenting.
We use a variety of activities and techniques in our classes which include storytelling, birth art exercises, meditative relaxation techniques, visual demonstrations and physical skills work.
Classes are taught in groups, but the needs of each woman -and her partner- are carefully considered by the class teachers meaning that each class will be different whilst always covering the essential information for parents-to-be.
Classes are run in various different formats at various times and dates to suit as many parents to be as possible. For more information on classes in your area
WiseBirthing is a new concept in childbirth preparation which encourages the innate ability of each woman to birth her baby. We invite you to explore our website, to read about our birthing philosophy and to join us in a childbirth preparation class, where you will experience a creative approach to enhance your confidence in your ability to give birth.
Our classes are aimed at both first time parents and at parents looking to prepare for the birth of subsequent children and are suitable from 28 weeks of pregnancy onwards. If you are expecting multiples, we recommend you book on slightly earlier from 24 weeks of pregnancy.
An holistic approach to childbirth preparation means that we look at all aspects of birthing and preparing for parenthood. We not only look at what will happen to your body but also look at your beliefs about birth and what you believe will, should or may happen over the critical weeks in the run up to birth and postnatally.
Whatever your outlook, we believe that our approach can help encourage a postive, enthusiastic and nurturing outlook which may have a profound impact on your exerience. We also believe that birth can be a hugely transformative experience and we hope that by helping you prepare effectively we can guide you through this very significant event in your lives.
We promote gentle, peaceful, happy births.
